Halloumi Excluded from EU-Australia Agreement

Cyprus has expressed concern over the exclusion of halloumi from the trade agreement between the European Union and Australia. Although halloumi has been recognized as a protected geographical indication, it was not included in the agreement due to its date of inclusion in PDOs. The Cypriot government is seeking alternative solutions to protect halloumi in international markets, while the European Commission leaves open the possibility of future inclusion in the agreement.
