Police Crackdown: Eight Arrests Made in One Night

The Cyprus Police continue their dynamic preventative operations in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activities and ensure public order. During the past night, targeted checks and arrests were carried out for a range of offenses, including theft, arson, causing injury, and driving under the influence of alcohol. A total of eight individuals were arrested in Limassol and Paphos, while 42 premises were checked, resulting in nine complaints regarding violations related to operating licenses and smoking in enclosed spaces. Simultaneously, over 600 traffic checks were conducted, leading to 179 traffic tickets and 36 individuals found to be driving under the influence of alcohol. Furthermore, ten vehicles were impounded for further examination in the context of investigating traffic offenses. These operations are part of a broader and ongoing preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence and targeted checks in all provinces. The Cyprus Police are committed to the continued implementation of these measures, with the aim of further preventing crime and enhancing the sense of security among citizens.
