As of last night, around 1300 goats and sheep had died in the units infected with foot-and-mouth disease in Aradippou and Livadia, with another 2700 expected to be culled by tomorrow. The Veterinary Services continue epidemiological investigations, sampling, and vaccinations, while assessing the market value of animals and feed for compensation to farmers. Investigations into the circumstances of the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease are ongoing, and the findings will be submitted to the Police. The Veterinary Services emphasize that their laboratories are accredited and regularly inspected, ensuring the accuracy of the results. The Veterinary Services urge the public to stop the fear and doubt, emphasizing that all necessary measures are being taken to control the epidemic. At the same time, they continue to monitor the situation and take samples from various areas of Cyprus.
