The Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Alexis Vafeadis, commented on the controversial video that has been circulating, emphasizing that the President of the Republic has demonstrated integrity, transparency, and respect for institutions. Mr. Vafeadis stated that the claims contained in the video are not supported by documented evidence or financial data proving illegal activity. He also underlined that informing citizens is the government's responsibility, but it cannot replace the investigation by the Attorney General and the Police. Furthermore, the Minister stressed that the country's international credibility depends on the unhindered and transparent functioning of institutions, and not on the uncritical adoption of claims. He noted that evaluating the video requires checking its origin, authenticity, and the full text to which it belongs, as fragmented presentation can lead to misinterpretations. Mr. Vafeadis clarified that corporate social responsibility initiatives are examined within their own institutional framework and cannot be equated with political funding or quid pro quo without specific evidence. He reiterated that the President of the Republic has shown honesty and transparency, and therefore, every claim must be evaluated based on evidence and not impressions. The Minister's statement is a response to the allegations arising from the publication of the video and seeks to ensure transparency and legality in public debate.
