Denmark and Greenland Propose NATO Mission to the Arctic

Denmark and Greenland have proposed a NATO mission to the Arctic in response to threats from US President Donald Trump regarding potential military occupation of Greenland and the imposition of tariffs. Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen stated that the response to Trump's provocative behavior should be European, not just Danish. He also emphasized that Greenland has successfully kept Chinese investments away from the island and that Trump cannot threaten to acquire ownership of Greenland. The proposal for the NATO mission was discussed with NATO Secretary-General Marc Rutte.
