Larnaca Networking with Tourism Professionals

The Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company participated in ACTE – Tourism Conference & Exhibition 2025 in Nicosia, presenting the work and objectives of the HERIT ADAPT program. The program, funded by Interreg Euro – Med, aims to promote sustainable tourism and protect cultural heritage. The ETAL has secured funding of 298,400 euros for the project, which involves collaboration with other tourism organizations from various countries. Within the framework of HERIT ADAPT, ETAL focuses on the Temple of Apollo Hylates in the Kourion area, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. High-resolution digitization and the creation of a 3D model of the monument have been completed, with the aim of enhancing the tourist promotion of the area. The ETAL's participation in ACTE was a significant opportunity to network with tourism professionals and exchange ideas on innovation and sustainable development. The company also organized a skills workshop with broad participation from stakeholders, aiming to promote cooperation and develop new strategies for tourism in Limassol. The HERIT ADAPT program includes the creation of Territorial Working Groups, which design sustainable tourism models, taking into account territorial needs, state legislation and technology. These models are tested in areas, monuments and points of interest recognized by UNESCO, as well as in less well-known areas.
