Successful Premiere of Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix 2026

The Cyprus Road Races Grand Prix 2026 kicked off with great success in Larnaca on Sunday, January 11th. Hundreds of runners participated in the 10 and 5 kilometer distances, enjoying the good weather conditions. Many runners improved their personal bests. In the 10 kilometer race, Giorgos Tofi and Svitlana Korobkina were the winners in the men's and women's categories, respectively. In the 5 kilometers, Andreas Prodromou and 13-year-old Despoina Lemonari finished first in the men's and women's categories. Additionally, one-kilometer races for children and a family fun run were held. The races are co-organized by KOEAS, the Cyprus Police, and the National Guard and are dedicated to fighting childhood cancer. The proceeds from the children's race will be donated to the "Nikolas Zoe" Foundation. The organizers thank the Municipality of Larnaca, the sponsors, and all contributors. The next race will take place on February 15th in the Municipality of Strovolos. Registrations are already open at https://cyprus.opentrack.run/en-gb/x/2026/CYP/cgpstrovolos/. The Strovolos event will also host the Pan-Cypriot Half Marathon Championship. The race results are officially recognized by the World Athletics Federation.
