Seven Arrests in One Night – From Robbery to Drugs and Assault on a Police Officer – 90 Traffic Violations

The Cyprus Police conducted extensive preventative operations across the island overnight, resulting in the arrest of seven individuals for a range of offenses. The arrests include cases of robbery, theft, drug possession, assault on a police officer, and traffic violations. Specifically, in the Limassol district, two individuals were arrested for robbery and theft, and one for an outstanding warrant. In Larnaca, one person was arrested for drugs and another for a warrant. In Famagusta, one person was arrested for assaulting a police officer and traffic violations, while another was arrested for drugs. In addition, 39 premises were checked and over 500 vehicle checks were carried out, resulting in 90 traffic violations, 27 of which were for speeding. Seven vehicles were also impounded. These operations are part of a broader and continuously strengthened preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence, targeted checks and immediate action, aiming to prevent crime and enhance the sense of security of citizens.
