Pig Breeders' Association Pleased with Government Support Measures for Livestock Farming

The Pan-Cypriot Pig Breeders Association expresses its satisfaction with the decisions of the Council of Ministers regarding the support of the livestock sector, within the framework of managing the effects of foot-and-mouth disease. It thanks the President of the Republic for his personal interest and clear political will to substantially support farmers. The Association also thanks the Minister of Agriculture and all relevant bodies and officials who contributed to the formulation and announcement of the measures. It emphasizes the importance of cooperation and coordinated action to effectively address the challenges. The livestock sector, and especially pig farming, is a fundamental pillar of the Cypriot economy, contributing to food security, agricultural development, and job creation. Government measures strengthen the resilience of the sector and lay the foundations for sustainable development. The Association is committed to continuing to cooperate with all stakeholders, as supporting the livestock sector is a strategic choice for the future of the country.
