Strong Earthquake Strikes Mount Athos
A strong earthquake of magnitude 4.9 struck Mount Athos shortly after 9 pm on Wednesday. The epicenter was located 11 kilometers west-northwest of Karyes, with a focal depth of 10.6 kilometers. The earthquake was felt in Thessaloniki and the Sporades islands. Two smaller aftershocks of magnitude 3.3 followed.
