“I Carried My Dead Wife for 1.5 Hours”: Shocking Testimony from Iran

Shocking testimonies are emerging from Iran regarding the bloody suppression of protests. Mariam, a protester, was shot and killed while returning with her husband, Reza, from a demonstration in Tehran. After her death, Reza carried her body for about an hour and a half until he found help. Mariam had warned her two children, aged seven and 14, about the dangers of the protests, telling them that “sometimes parents go to protests and don’t return.” The number of victims is unclear, with the HRANA organization reporting at least 2,400 protesters dead, including 12 children, but is estimated to be higher due to internet disruptions and the difficulty of verifying information.
