Cyprus Airspace Remains Open Despite Regional Tensions

Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis announced that the airspace of Cyprus has not been closed, despite concerns regarding the developments in the US-Israel and Iran conflict. He clarified that space was requested for fighter jets to operate, which affected some flights. Earlier, two Greek fighter jets took off from the “Andreas Papandreou” base to identify a suspicious object near Lebanon, but no threat was detected. Additionally, a decree is expected to be issued prohibiting drone flights by private individuals, allowing their use only by government departments.
