The Green Party of Cyprus and the Animal Party have announced their collaboration for the upcoming Parliamentary Elections, under the name “Green Party of Cyprus, people, animals, nature”. The aim of the collaboration is to bring people who deal with everyday and environmental issues into Parliament. The Spokesperson of the Green Party, Maria Theodosiadou, stated that the founding of the party arose from gaps identified in ecology, while the Spokesperson of the Animal Party, Akis Ioannidis, expressed his satisfaction with the merger of the two parties. The name of Andreas Hassapopoulos will also be on the collaboration’s ballot. Initially, Sotiris Christou had been approached, but ultimately chose not to participate. The party’s platform is open to other small parties that accept the principles of sustainability and love for animals and humans. It differs from the platform of Pheidi Panagiotou, as it is not based on protest.
