President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides is in Paris meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron. The meeting, currently underway, is part of the close cooperation between Cyprus and France and reflects the high level of coordination on European, regional, and international issues. The meeting takes place alongside the inauguration of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union exhibition at the National Library of France, with the presence of both Presidents. As part of the visit, President Christodoulides is inaugurating two exhibitions highlighting Cyprus's cultural heritage and its ties with France and Europe. The exhibitions are a collaboration between the Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Culture and the Louvre Museum and the National Library of France, showcasing archaeological and historical evidence, as well as digital applications. The Louvre Museum is hosting sixteen antiquities from the Department of Antiquities of Cyprus for the first time, including iconic objects from the Chalcolithic and Bronze Ages. The exhibition aims to understand the techniques of material production and the commercial and cultural exchanges that developed on the island. The exhibition at the Louvre will be open until June 22, 2026, and is organized in collaboration with the Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Culture, the University of Cyprus, and CYENS, as part of the Cultural Program of the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council.
