Greece Welcomes 2026 with Music, Drone Shows, and Silent Fireworks

Greece ushered in 2026 with spectacular celebrations in Athens and Thessaloniki. In Athens, concerts were held at Pedion of Ares and Tritis Park with renowned artists such as Claudia and Eleni Foureira, while the countdown was led by the Regional Governor of Attica, Nikos Hardalias. This was followed by an impressive drone show and silent fireworks to avoid disturbing animals. In Syntagma Square, Kostas Maraveyas and Rena Morfi signaled the New Year with a grand concert, which also included songs by Dionysis Savvopoulos as a tribute. In Thessaloniki, the White Tower became the center of the celebrations with an impressive laser show and fireworks. Thousands of people gathered to enjoy the spectacle, braving the cold weather. The festive events at both Christmas Villages will continue until January 7th with free admission, offering music, educational activities, and happenings. The use of silent fireworks is a trend followed in recent years, aiming to reduce noise pollution and protect companion animals and wildlife.
