Moscow: Trump is Right to Say Zelensky is Delaying Peace

The Kremlin stated today that Russia agrees with the view of former US President Donald Trump that Ukraine, specifically President Volodymyr Zelensky, is responsible for delaying a potential peace agreement with Russia. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia will welcome the White House envoy, Steve Witkoff, and Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, once a visit date is agreed upon. At the same time, Peskov mentioned that the US has not responded to President Putin's proposal to extend the New START treaty, which concerns nuclear arms control and expires in a few weeks. Russia wants the extension, but the US is seeking a more ambitious agreement that would also include China, which has not expressed interest. These statements come in response to comments made by Donald Trump, who criticized Ukraine for delaying peace talks. The Kremlin's stance appears to be an attempt to exploit disagreements within the US regarding policy towards Ukraine.
