Ukraine's Zelenskyy Appoints Intelligence Chief as New Head of Presidential Office

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, has appointed Kyrylo Budanov, the head of military intelligence, as the new head of the presidential office, following the resignation of the previous chief due to a corruption scandal. Budanov has gained a reputation for his daring operations against Russia since the start of the invasion in 2022. The appointment comes at a critical moment in the war, with Zelenskyy stating that an agreement to end the conflict is 90% ready. Zelenskyy emphasized the need for greater focus on security issues and diplomatic negotiations, as well as Budanov's specialized experience in these areas. Budanov will replace Andriy Yermak, who resigned after an investigation into corruption.
