President Nikos Christodoulides firmly rejected any backroom deals with ELAM, emphasizing the party's negative stance on important reforms such as tax and education. He clarified that individuals who supported his presidency come from various political backgrounds and will vote according to their political preferences. Referring to relations with DIKO, President Christodoulides acknowledged the party's significant support in the presidential elections but stressed that there are disagreements on certain issues. However, he estimated that DIKO also benefits from the government's work. Regarding the Democratic Rally, the President reiterated that there is no prospect of the party participating in the government, following the negative response from the party headquarters to the presidential call. However, he emphasized the importance of consensus in Parliament for the good of the country and questioned in which areas the leadership of DISY disagrees with the government. Finally, President Christodoulides admitted that communication with DISY is limited but reiterated his willingness to dialogue and cooperate on matters of common interest.
