Drug Attempt at Central Prisons: Woman Arrested with Crystal Meth

A woman was arrested at Larnaca Central Prisons for attempting to smuggle drugs during a visitation. She was found to be carrying approximately 17 grams of Crystal meth, discovered during a check by the Drug Enforcement Unit (YKAN). The arrest followed surveillance of the visitation, as there were suspicions of supplying drugs to the inmate she was visiting. The inmate had previously been involved in a similar attempt during his transfer to court. The seized substance will be analyzed at the State Chemistry, and the case will be referred to justice. Prison authorities emphasize that strict control measures are in place to prevent the introduction of drugs, using specialized equipment and cooperation with YKAN, as well as trained guards and drug detection dogs.
