Mr. Dowty reaffirmed the UK's support for the efforts to resolve the issue. The discussion also focused on the situation in Cyprus due to the tensions in the region and the attack on the British Akrotiri base. Ms. Demetriou emphasized that Cyprus is a pillar of security and stability and is part of the solution. Mr. Dowty assured that Cyprus continues to be considered a safe destination and is in the 'green category' of safe countries by the United Kingdom. He also expressed satisfaction with the arrival of British tourists in Cyprus and the high level of cooperation between the two countries.
