Road Closures in Nicosia for Running Races

Several roads in Nicosia will be closed to traffic on Sunday, January 18, 2026, due to the holding of charity running races. The road closures will be in effect from 5:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and include central roads such as Rigaenis Street, Pafou Street, Grivas Digenis Avenue (with one lane closed in a specific section), Omorou Avenue (also with one lane closed near Eleftheria Square) and Archbishop Makarios B' Square. Additionally, Kinira, Nehru, Lord Byron, Prokopiou, Archangel Michael, Egypt, Stasinou, Constantine Palaiologos, Nikephoros Fokas, Athens, King George II, Spyros Christodoulou, Christakis Christofides, Aegaeos, Agios Ilarion, Synergasias and Markou Botsari streets will be closed. There will also be a closure of the turnaround at the roundabout of Agiou Ilarionos Avenue and Christou Samara Street, as well as at the Kantaras and Ilarionos roundabout in Palouriotissa. Traffic will be diverted through adjacent roads, and the Police will be present in the area to assist the public and regulate traffic. Temporary road signs will also be in place to guide drivers.
