OEB Recommendations for Businesses Affected by Middle East Crisis

The Federation of Employers & Industrialists (OEB) has issued recommendations for businesses affected by the current crisis in the Middle East, as well as readiness instructions in case of an alarm siren activation. The OEB emphasizes the importance of cooperation between employers and employees to resolve issues arising from work disruptions, proposing the use of annual leave, partial pay, teleworking, paid leave, and agreed-upon unpaid leave. The OEB urges businesses to be prepared for emergencies by designating responsible persons, identifying safe areas, informing staff about escape routes, and ensuring first aid and fire safety equipment. It also recommends maintaining an updated contact list of employees. In the event of an alarm activation, businesses are advised to stop work, move to a safe area, remain there until further instructions, and remain calm. After the alarm ends, a headcount of personnel should be conducted, first aid provided, and facilities checked for potential hazards. The OEB reminds that in the event of an emergency, businesses and their personnel must follow exclusively the instructions of the competent state authorities.
