Eight Arrests Following Police Operation, Hundreds of Checks Conducted

The Cyprus Police continue enhanced preventative operations across the island, aiming to prevent criminal activity and protect citizens. Recent operations resulted in the arrest of eight individuals for various offenses, including theft, illegal stay, arson, and causing injury. Additionally, two people were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. Simultaneously, 42 premises were checked, leading to nine complaints regarding operating licenses and smoking in enclosed spaces. On the road network, over 600 checks were carried out, resulting in 179 traffic violations and 36 drivers found to be under the influence. Ten vehicles were impounded for further examination as part of traffic offense investigations. These operations are part of a broader and ongoing preventative plan by the Police, with increased presence and targeted checks in all provinces. The Police aim to further prevent crime and enhance the sense of security among citizens. Operations will continue with undiminished intensity, adapting tactics according to needs and conditions.
