‘Water Umbrella’ for Fire Protection Invented by Larnaca Technical School Students!

Students at the Larnaca Technical Vocational School of Education and Training have presented an innovative idea for fire protection of homes, creating a 'water umbrella' that can protect them from fires. The idea was born from the devastating fires in the mountainous region of Limassol last summer. The system, which won second prize in the 'Ideodrome' competition, works with sensors that detect fires early and activate a water spraying system on the roof and sides of the building, creating a protective veil. The water is recycled through a collection and storage system, reducing consumption. In addition to fire protection, the system can also be used to cool homes during heat waves, reducing the need for air conditioning. Furthermore, it provides notifications to the owner's mobile phone in case of danger. This invention is an excellent example of the creativity and innovation of the students at the Larnaca Technical School and can contribute significantly to protecting homes from fires.
