Princess Irene, the youngest sister of the former King Constantine and Queen Sofia of Spain, has died at the age of 83 in Madrid. Princess Irene was the daughter of King Paul and Queen Frederica of Greece. Her death coincided with the memorial day of her brother, just three years and five days apart. In recent days, Princess Irene's health had deteriorated, leading her sister, Queen Sofia, to stay by her side and cancel her trip to Greece. According to reports, Princess Irene had been suffering from severe cognitive decline for some time. The palace announcement stated that the Communication Department of the Royal Family will provide details regarding the ceremonies to be held in Spain and the transfer of her remains to Greece.
