Pastos: Turkish Keyboard Behind 'Emily Thompson' Video (VID)

Internet Security Specialist Dinos Pastos presented significant evidence regarding the origin and management of the video that circulated and caused reactions. He argued that the "Emily Thompson" account likely does not correspond to a real person and is used as a "megaphone" for republishing information, potentially having been sold or purchased by others. Mr. Pastos identified linguistic and typographical elements in the post, such as the absence of a tone on the iota in words like "finance" and "campaign", which are characteristic of the Turkish language and keyboard. He also noted a curve in the final "s" of an adjective, which indicates a Turkish font. However, he clarified that these elements do not constitute definitive conclusions, as there is a possibility of deliberate misinformation. The account was created in 2022 and previously published unrelated content, while it has no substantial interaction with other users. Mr. Pastos stated that identifying the individuals behind the account is difficult, as Twitter does not readily provide information about its users. He emphasized that platforms remove significant data that could assist the investigation, while the case resembles previous instances of illegal recording and leaking of conversations.
