Poland: Heavy Snowfall Causes Traffic Chaos on Motorway – Hundreds of Drivers Stranded

Heavy snowfall in Poland caused serious traffic problems, with hundreds of drivers stranded on a motorway connecting Warsaw to Gdansk. The queues of cars reached 20 kilometers due to the difficulty of vehicles moving uphill. The drivers remained trapped for several hours in low temperatures, however traffic was gradually restored overnight. Police reported that the situation began when trucks started having difficulty on the slopes. Poland's Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Stanislaw Bukowiec, assured that there were no injuries. At the same time, problems were also reported on the railway network and at airports, which were addressed and their operation was restored. The heavy snowfall and low temperatures caused significant difficulties in travel in Poland, while authorities warn of the possibility of new problems due to weather conditions.
