The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning for very strong and temporarily gale-force winds, reaching up to 7 Beaufort, which will affect the west, north, and locally the south coasts of Cyprus until 9 pm. The sea will be rough to wavy, and intermittent cloud cover with the possibility of isolated showers is expected. Tonight, the winds will remain strong and the sea rough, while there is a possibility of snow or sleet on the higher peaks of Troodos. The temperature will drop significantly, reaching 7 degrees Celsius inland, 13 degrees on the coast, and 2 degrees in the mountains, where frost is likely to form. The weather will remain cloudy in the coming days, with local showers and the possibility of thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is expected in the mountains. The temperature will gradually rise, but will remain close to or slightly above the average climatic values. The snow height at Chionistra is currently 21 centimeters.
