Russian Oil Changes Route from China to India

Russian tankers originally destined for China are changing course and heading to India, as New Delhi increases its purchases of Russian oil. This change is partly due to US approval for India to temporarily increase its imports of Russian oil, due to disruptions in the global energy market. Indian refining companies have already purchased significant quantities of Russian oil following the approval, and other countries, such as Japan and South Korea, also appear to be returning to the Russian crude oil market. This development may increase competition and oil prices.
