Taxi Drivers in Cyprus to Stage 24-Hour Strike

The Pan-Cypriot Taxi Association (POAT) has announced a 24-hour strike starting today, Tuesday, at 6:00 a.m. and ending tomorrow, Wednesday, at 6:00 a.m. The strike is a result of the lack of response from relevant authorities following a previous four-hour work stoppage. POAT states that if their demands are not met, they will proceed with an indefinite strike from next Tuesday, January 27th. During the strike, taxis will not serve the public from designated waiting areas at Larnaca and Paphos airports, as well as in Limassol (Potamos Germasogeias parking area).
