CYMEPA Secures International Funding for Ecosystem Restoration Education

The Cyprus Marine Environment Protection Association (CYMEPA) announced that its proposal for the Ecosystems Restoration Education (ERE) project within the LEAF program has been selected for funding by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), alongside proposals from Argentina, Malaysia, and Armenia. CYMEPA's proposal, titled “Join the FBI: Forest Bureau of Investigation,” stood out for its creativity and scalability potential, through educational tools and programs that connect environmental education with healthy living. The funding amounts to €5,000, and the project will include forest research, restoration competitions, school gardening programs, and digital educational resources. Both ERE and LEAF are implemented by FEE and support the UN Decade on Ecosystems Restoration.
