Drone Strike on Akrotiri British Base to be Discussed at European Parliament Plenary

MEP Lucas Fourlas has secured the inclusion of the drone strike on the Akrotiri British Base on the agenda of the upcoming European Parliament Plenary Session. This move came after immediate intervention by Mr. Fourlas and aims to highlight the seriousness of developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and their impact on Cyprus. The decision was made as a result of coordinated actions and political intervention, with the aim of bringing the issue before the European Parliament due to the threat to the security of a member state and the stability of the region. The attacks and threats are considered a serious escalation and endanger the safety of citizens. Mr. Fourlas stressed that Cyprus cannot be treated as collateral damage in broader conflicts and that any threat to Cyprus concerns all of Europe. He called for an immediate discussion in the Plenary Session to inform the European Parliament and demand specific response measures. The European People's Party also condemned the Iranian drone attacks, describing them as unacceptable and dangerous to regional security. It expressed its full solidarity with Cyprus and stressed the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country.
