Trial of SYOP Accused of Attempted Murder Postponed to May 4th

The trial of the 22-year-old SYOP, accused of the attempted murder of a 47-year-old businessman on July 31, 2025, has been postponed to May 4th. The defendant appeared before the Larnaca Permanent Criminal Court today under strict security measures and pleaded not guilty to the charges against him. The postponement is due to the court's heavy schedule. The defendant remains in custody. He faces serious charges, including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition. The 22-year-old was arrested in November following information that he had told a third party that he had committed the attempted murder. During the search of his home, a pistol, ammunition, masks, and mobile phones were found. Videos were found on the defendant's mobile phones showing him stalking the 47-year-old before and after the attempted murder, recording his movements and making verbal descriptions. The 47-year-old was not injured during the attempt.
