Student Elections at the University of Cyprus Tomorrow: New Faction on the Ballot

Student elections will be held tomorrow at the University of Cyprus to elect the members of the new board of the Student Union. Six student factions will participate in the elections, including the newly formed “Voice of Students,” while “Independent Student EPALXI” will not be running this year. The participating factions are: FPK Protoboria, Progressive K.F., Anagenesis, Student Front (ELAM), Agonas, and Voice of Students. They will compete for a total of 21 seats on the board. Last year, the seats were distributed as follows: Progressive K.F. (9 seats), FPK Protoboria (9 seats), Student Front ELAM (1 seat), Anagenesis (1 seat), and Independent Student EPALXI (1 seat). The participation of “Voice of Students” adds a new element to the electoral process, while the absence of “Independent Student EPALXI” is expected to affect the distribution of seats.
