AKEL Leader Calls for Stronger Representation in Parliament

The General Secretary of AKEL, Stefanos Stefanou, emphasized the need to strengthen the party in the new Parliament to support society and workers. He argued that despite economic growth, wealth is not distributed fairly and social inequalities are increasing. He criticized the current leadership of DIKO, accusing it of becoming an appendage of DISY and moving away from its traditional values. He specifically referred to the approval of funds for the creation of museums for Grivas, characterizing it as support for DISY's policies. Finally, he criticized the intervention of President Christodoulides in the parliamentary elections, with his desire for a center-right majority, including the far-right.
