Strong Reaction from PASYDY-SAK to Police Chief's Announcements

PASYDY and the Cyprus Police Association (SAK) expressed strong dissatisfaction and outrage over the announcements made by the Police Chief regarding changes to working hours and the reduction of working days. They characterized these actions as a “blatant violation of labor institutions,” emphasizing that working hours are a fundamental right of employees and cannot be changed unilaterally. Furthermore, they reminded that the current working hours are the result of an agreement within the framework of MEPA in 2017, aiming to align with the public service working hours. They warned that the implementation of the unilateral decision would undermine the climate of trust between the police and trade unions.
