Thursday is the Final Verdict on Foreclosures

The Parliament's Economic Affairs Committee failed to reach an agreement on the issue of foreclosures, as parties insist on submitting all 26 proposals to the plenary session before the Parliament's dissolution in April. A final attempt to find a common formula will be made on Thursday, aiming to consolidate proposals by category. DISY is reportedly withdrawing its proposal to freeze foreclosures for primary residences worth up to €400,000 due to internal reactions. The proposals that appear to have the most chances of being approved are DISY's proposal to protect guarantors and DIKO's proposal to appoint special judges to hear financial disputes.
