Kremlin Calls EU's LNG Plan 'Self-Destructive'

The Kremlin has criticized the European Union for its insistence on a plan to halt imports of Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) by the end of the year, calling it self-destructive and harmful to the interests of European citizens. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that Russia will turn to new markets for LNG and other energy exports. Russia argues it can find alternative buyers and accused the EU of “shooting itself in the foot.” Furthermore, the Kremlin confirmed it is discussing ways to help Cuba, which faces an oil blockade from the United States, but declined to comment on reports of a secret delivery of Russian diesel fuel to the island.
