Tragedy in Bolivia: At Least 11 Dead in Traffic Accident – Driver Was a Teenager

At least eleven people were killed in a serious traffic accident in eastern Bolivia. The minibus they were traveling in collided with another vehicle, and according to police, the driver was a teenager aged 13 to 14 years old. Of the dead, four were minors and seven were adults. Four injured people were taken to a hospital in the area. The accident occurred near the village of Puerto Quijarro, in the Santa Cruz department, near the border with Brazil. Police report that some of the passengers were under the influence of alcohol. According to figures from the Bolivian Ministry of Interior, around 1,400 people die each year on Bolivia's roads, due to accidents mainly caused by driver carelessness and mechanical failures. This particular incident highlights the problem of underage driving and the need for stricter control.
