Russians Caught with €150,000 at Agios Dometios Checkpoint

Customs officials arrested two women with Cypriot citizenship of Russian origin at the Agios Dometios checkpoint after discovering €150,000 in the passenger's bag. The vehicle search also revealed duty-free cigarettes and tobacco. The women were initially arrested for immediate offenses but were released after accepting an out-of-court settlement with a payment of €600. The money was confiscated for further investigation by the Police and the Financial Crime Unit (MOKAS) to determine its origin and intended use. The case is under investigation.
