Adopt a Green Space: A Policy Introduced by Strovolos Municipality

Published December 30, 2025, 09:29

Strovolos Municipality is launching a new policy titled “Adopt a Green Space,” aiming to encourage greater citizen involvement in the care and maintenance of public green areas within the region. This policy allows residents, property owners, companies, and organized groups to “adopt” a green space and contribute to its cleanliness, greenery, and overall aesthetics, always in collaboration with the Municipality. The main objectives of the program are to enhance environmental awareness among citizens, improve the quality of life in the city, promote active participation of the local community, and protect and highlight the urban natural environment. Strovolos Municipality seeks to foster a sense of collective responsibility for shared spaces. It is important to emphasize that adopting a green space does not imply ownership. Adopters do not acquire any property rights but take on the responsibility of its care, respecting its public character. Collaboration with the Municipality is essential to ensure the proper implementation of the policy. The Municipality invites all interested parties to participate in the program and contribute to creating a greener, more beautiful, and sustainable city. For more information about the program and to submit an application, you can contact via email at [email protected] or follow the provided link, with a deadline of January 31, 2026.
