Interior Ministry: Interventions for Affordable Housing Focused on Four Pillars

The Minister of Interior, Konstantinos Ioannou, presented the four pillars of the government's interventions to address the housing problem: increasing supply, reducing bureaucracy, strengthening investment, and supporting vulnerable groups. Cyprus, during its Presidency of the Council of the EU, is focusing on access to affordable and sustainable housing, particularly for middle-income households and young families. He referred to the Urban Planning Incentive Schemes and Build to Rent, as well as the utilization of the Special Fund for Affordable Housing, with the aim of increasing the supply of housing and providing affordable solutions.
