Khamenei Calls Trump a 'Criminal,' Vows No War but No Impunity

Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has accused Donald Trump of being a “criminal” for inciting violence and deaths during the recent protests in Iran. He asserted that the protesters were instigated by Israel and the United States, and that over 3,000 people have lost their lives in the demonstrations. Despite increasing US military movements in the region, Khamenei stated that Tehran does not wish to lead the country into war, but will not allow “criminals” to go unpunished. The Iranian government has stated it is open to negotiations with the US, while a slight restoration of internet access has been observed in the country.
