Winter Storm Grips Cyprus: Strong Winds, Hail, and Snow Forecast

Cyprus is under a winter grip due to a strong low-pressure system and a cold air mass. The Meteorological Service has issued a yellow warning for strong to gale-force winds, valid until 10:00 PM. Local showers, hail, and snowfall are expected in the higher mountains, mainly in Troodos. The winds will be northwesterly, strong to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort, and the sea will be rough to wavy. The temperature will drop to 7 degrees Celsius inland, 9 degrees on the coast, and around -2 degrees in the mountains, where frost is expected. Tomorrow, the weather will be partly cloudy with local showers and isolated thunderstorms, while snowfall will continue in the higher mountains. The winds will be southwesterly to westerly, moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will rise to 17 degrees Celsius inland, 19 degrees on the coast, and 6 degrees in the mountains. The weekend and the following days will see unsettled weather, with increased cloud cover, local showers, and isolated thunderstorms. The temperature will remain at the same levels on Sunday, but will gradually decrease from Monday, fluctuating below the average climatic values.
