16 More Schools Join the "Schools as Ambassadors of Culture" Program in Cyprus

The Cypriot Deputy Ministry of Culture has expanded its "Schools as Ambassadors of Culture – Children as Ambassadors of Culture" program, welcoming 16 new schools and bringing the total number of participants to 31. The inclusion of the "Agios Varnavas" School for the Blind highlights the program's commitment to inclusivity. With an increased budget of €124,000, the program aims to connect art, literature, and historical memory with the educational process. A catalog of 175 artists and creators has been established to collaborate with schools, and the Deputy Minister of Culture, Lina Kassianidou, emphasized the importance of organic cooperation between artists and students. School selection was based on criteria such as cultural proposals, geographical distribution, and access to cultural activities. The goal is to create an accessible culture for all children, including those with special needs. The event featured ideas and programs from Cyprus and abroad, focusing on connecting research with the visual representation of culture and creating literary workshops. Schools that have participated since the first year now function as centers of expertise, and the Deputy Minister of Culture expressed a desire to expand the program to all Special Schools and Kindergartens next year.
