2026: A Year of Challenges and Opportunities for Cyprus Tourism

Tourism remains one of the most important pillars of the Cypriot economy. 2025 was a good year for tourism, with over 4.3 million arrivals and revenues expected to reach €3 billion. However, there are challenges, such as the increase in short-term rental accommodations, seasonality, inflation, rising energy costs, staff shortages, and high borrowing costs. Despite these challenges, Cypriot tourism is evolving and adapting to new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, with the aim of sustainable and quality development.
