3.5-Year Prison Sentence for Woman Convicted of Burglary, Theft, and Vandalism

A 30-year-old woman was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Paphos District Court for burglary, theft, and malicious damage. The defendant has a prior record with seven previous convictions for similar offenses. The burglary occurred approximately a year ago, where the 30-year-old entered a residence through the kitchen and stole jewelry and cash totaling €30,340. During her arrest, she wore the owner's wedding ring, which the Judge characterized as a lack of empathy. Additionally, she caused damage to a vehicle, amounting to €800, which remains unrepaired. Despite mitigating factors presented by the defense regarding the defendant's difficult life, the Court ruled that the criminal behavior cannot be justified.
