AKEL Aims to Increase Support in Famagusta, Focuses on Social Justice

The Provincial Secretary of AKEL Famagusta, Christos Nikolaou, presented the party's political positions and goals ahead of the upcoming parliamentary elections in an interview with "Haravgi". He emphasized the desire to increase the party's electoral percentage in the province of Famagusta, as well as to strengthen AKEL's connection with society, workers, and refugees. Nikolaou highlighted AKEL's differentiation from the government bloc, which he believes protects the interests of banks and large corporations at the expense of workers and small and medium-sized businesses. He cited the tax reform and the minimum wage issue as examples, pointing out that AKEL is the only party defending the interests of workers. The interview mentioned that the AKEL Famagusta ballot includes new faces, individuals established in their professional fields, who can inspire and effectively represent the interests of citizens. Nikolaou expressed confidence that support for AKEL is a vote to strengthen the voice of workers, farmers, small and medium-sized businesses, and young people. Finally, Nikolaou stated that AKEL remains steadfast in its positions on the Cyprus issue, supporting the solution of a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation, and is committed to protecting the rights of refugees and highlighting the issue of Famagusta.
