Berlin Will Not Send Military Support to Cyprus

The German government does not plan to provide military support to Cyprus, said government spokesman Stefan Kornelius. However, Berlin is in constant contact with the Cypriot government and is assessing the situation. Germany shares the warnings of other European countries, calling on all parties involved, especially Iran, not to extend the conflict to European territory. Mr. Kornelius stressed that sufficient measures of regional assistance and coverage have been taken, as well as within the framework of NATO. However, he did not rule out the possibility of a change in the situation in the future.
