British Family in Iranian Prison: Used as 'Human Shields'

The family of a British couple held in Iran has accused Iranian authorities of using them as "human shields" during the American-Israeli war. Lindsay and Craig Forman, who were sentenced to 10 years in prison on espionage charges, deny the allegations. Their family reports that during bombings near Evin Prison in Tehran, the cell where Craig Forman is being held was damaged by shrapnel, endangering his life. Their son, Joe Bennett, describes the appalling conditions of his parents' detention. Bennett criticizes the British government, accusing it of a lack of support and inaction in the effort to release his parents. The British government has condemned the sentence and states that it continues to push for their release, however Bennett expresses his disappointment at the lack of results. The couple was arrested in January 2025 while traveling in Iran by motorcycle.
